I am a member of a cross-shaped kingdom, following a cross-shaped king. In my baptism, I identify myself with the death of Jesus and I take up my cross as a way of life;
Forsaking status-seeking, self-preservation, self-aggrandizement, and upward mobility; surrendering my power and privilege, and my rights to comfort and safety;
So that I may imitate Christ by returning good for evil; blessing my enemies and praying for those who persecute me; refusing to retaliate; promoting God’s Shalom and flourishing for the sake of others.
